Background:
Frustration with American health care is rampant. Clinicians are faced with bureaucratic hurdles and mountains of paperwork, while most patients are bewildered by high deductibles, varying copays, soaring healthcare costs, narrow networks, and capricious insurance companies.
The feeling of unfairness is ubiquitous. We get too little value for the high prices we pay. We too often get treated poorly by companies and even by the clinicians who we seek out for help.
We can’t remain quiet. We aren’t powerless. And we know that transformational change is not easy. But it can happen if Americans make it a priority. Fairness is an American value that needs to be honored, in health care and beyond. Join us in thought and action.
Our leader Marjorie Mitchell and many others from across the country have signed the pledge.
