Midwest Conference: Building Consumer-Oriented Health Care Exchanges

Progress & Opportunity in the Midwest

October 12, 2012
Chicago, Illinois

Community leaders and policymakers across the Midwest will convene to share lessons learned and opportunities ahead in building robust state, partnership, and federally-facilitated insurance exchanges for consumers and small businesses.

Hosted by U.S. PIRG Education Fund, Illinois PIRG Education Fund, PIRGIM Education Fund, Ohio PIRG Education Fund, Iowa PIRG Education Fund and WISPIRG Foundation, with generous support from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation

PIRGIM, along with our affiliates with other state PIRGs in the Midwest, is putting together a fantastic conference on health care exchange advocacy. It will be held in Chicago on October 12th.

The primary audience for this event is health reform advocates, but we also expect the topics will be of interest to social service groups and agencies, grant-makers, providers, potential navigators, and others across the Midwest. Please join us!

Just a little over a year from now, the long-awaited state and federal health insurance exchanges will open for business. Will these new health insurance marketplaces succeed in delivering better choices on coverage? Will they attract large numbers of consumers and small businesses?
The answers lie in what unfolds in the year ahead. Success depends on all of us.
